Description

Yujiapu railway station, is an underground railway station of Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway located in Binhai, Tianjin, People's Republic of China. 
 
Looking out from the sky, an unusually conspicuous construction, most people may think that this is a place like a concert, but in fact it is a high-speed rail station!
 
This high-speed rail station is called Yujiapu High-speed Railway Station, located in Tianjin, China. It is the world's largest and deepest underground high-speed rail station construction, world's first single-story large-span reticulated dome steel structure project. Yujiapu Station adopts the “shell” architectural design, It’s roof is very characteristic and also has extremely high technical difficulty. The most striking thing is It’s shell-like upper part, which covers more than 700 different sizes of ETFE membrane. After the shell is inflated, each membrane can withstand the weight of a car, it can be washed out by the structure of the daily precipitation membrane, which is very green. 
 
Based on the consideration of the lighting of the underground station and the load-bearing of the dome, design of the combination of steel structure and tensile fabric architecture was adopted at the dome of Yujiapu Station. Shade shelter adopts new construction materials ETFE membrane material, which has the characteristics of strong tear resistance, high tensile strength, medium hardness, excellent impact resistance, long telescopic life and strong light transmission. The tensile system can be completed by natural rain and wind. Self-cleaning, it will automatically connect to the computer to charge and deflate according to changes in temperature and humidity. 
 
On the ground, oval shell of Yujiapu Station is like a beautiful shell. Surrounded by a picturesque landscape park, station park is connected to the Ziyun Park in the north, which is a good place for citizens to relax. 
 
The project was opened in September 2015. It has become a landmark construction in Tianjin.
